ePaint Announces Sponsorship of 2010 Nantucket Race Week to Benefit Nantucket Community Sailing

ePaint is pleased to be an official sponsor of the 2010 Nantucket Race Week (NRW) which benefits Nantucket Community Sailing (NCS), a non-profit, educational organization that provides affordable access to sailing and water sports to the public. 

Now in its fourteenth year, NCS served 1,200 young sailors last year, providing free equipment and instruction through many community outreach programs, including sponsoring and coaching Nantucket's High School Sailing Team, offering sailing scholarships to year-round island youth, running informal sailboat races for all levels and teaching adaptive windsurfing and rowing clinics for disabled athletes.

Nantucket Race Week is an eight-day experience that marshals the entire Nantucket community together in a fun-filled week of regattas, awards ceremonies, and parties. The races provide sport for everyone from young dinghy sailors and families in the household knockabout to grand prix racers at the very top of their profession. The racing begins on Saturday, August 7, 2010 with events scheduled daily through Sunday, August 15, 2010.    Sailors of all levels are welcome to participate in events, for a detailed event listing and to register, please click here.  

Nantucket Race Week was certified as a Clean Regatta by Sailors for the Sea in 2009 and ePaint Company is happy to be a part of this progressive achievement.   Some of the Clean Regatta initiatives implemented are:
   *No discharge in the harbor
   *Recycle glass, plastic, metal and paper
   *"Green team" to collect trash and recyclables
   *Use of refillable water bottles
   *Encourage green cleaning products
   *Promote environmentally friendly bottom paint
   *Use bicycles and public transportation
   *Support land-based water quality initiatives
